Upcoming 2025 Municipal Enforcement of Environmental Laws Class
John Ockels Ph.D., Director at Texas Illegal Dumping Resource Center is teaching an upcoming Municipal Enforcement of Environmental Laws class.
What: 2025 Municipal Enforcement of Environmental Laws class local police; sanitarians; fire marshals; specialized environmental enforcement officers, emergency management coordinators; health departments; felony and misdemeanor prosecutors; city attorneys;
municipal judges; municipal elected officials and city staff and others needing an understanding of municipal-level enforcement of state anti-pollution laws.
When: May 28th and 29th, 2025, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

TIDRC classes are particularly useful for city and county staff having overall environmental enforcement responsibilities as well as local code enforcement officers and registered sanitarians; local peace officers; local health department officers and Local Health Authorities; specialized environmental enforcement officers; fire marshals and firefighters; prosecutors; as well as other city and county staff and elected officials needing a good understanding of the approaches available assure a clean and pollutant-free community.
Planned topics will include Illegal dumping; Public Health Nuisances; water pollution; hazardous and medical waste mishandling and dumping; dumping
special items such as scrap tires, used oil, and lead-acid batteries; and policy issues such as working with county prosecutors and making sure mandatory community service hours are imposed for all levels of illegal dumping, including C Misdemeanors in Municipal Court!
