To: City Managers and City Secretaries in the NCTCOG 16-County Region, Water Resources Council Members, and Interested Parties

As required under the Clean Water Act, the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) has drafted its annual update to the North Central Texas Water Quality Management Plan (WQMP). The 2021 deliverable, which is in the format of an interactive mapping tool, is now available for public comment through June 28, 2021, and can be found by clicking HERE. It is also posted under the green banner labeled "Water Quality and Current Water Quality Management Plan" on NCTCOG’s website at:
https://www.nctcog.org/envir/natural-resources/water-resources.

You may submit written comments referencing the 2021 Update to the North Central Texas WQMP by either replying to this message, emailing to EandD@nctcog.org, or mailing to NCTCOG, Environment & Development, P.O. Box 5888, Arlington TX 76005-5888.

The Draft 2021 deliverable was prepared by NCTCOG under the guidance of the Water Resources Council, which consists of members from the North Central Texas region’s joint treatment works and their customer councils, representatives from non-profit organizations, and other water quality experts. The Texas Commission of Environmental Quality (TCEQ) then incorporates the annual North Central Texas WQMP into its statewide water quality planning efforts.

At its next meeting on July 14, 2021, the Water Resources Council will hold discussions on the Draft 2021 deliverable and public comments received. The Water Resources Council will then consider recommending the Draft 2021 deliverable for adoption by NCTCOG's Executive Board, which is scheduled to review and discuss the WQMP at its meeting on August 26, 2021. Pending adoption by NCTCOG's Executive Board, the Final 2021 Update to the North Central Texas WQMP will then be submitted to TCEQ.

This project is funded through a grant from TCEQ and U.S. EPA.
